ChaffChing is privacy-first: it runs entirely on your device with no server, so we can't see your account, your earnings, or any errors on our side. That's by design, but it also means we can't spot a problem on our own or look anything up for you. When something goes wrong, you have to tell us what you're seeing.
The fastest way to get help is email: hi@toaitran.com. So we can actually help, include your macOS or iOS version, the app version (Settings → About), and, if relevant, which affiliate network you are having trouble with. Screenshots or a screen recording help a lot.
Common issues
Connecting a network
Each network needs its own API credentials, created in that network's publisher dashboard. Our setup guides have step-by-step instructions with exact menu paths for each one. In short:
- CJ (Commission Junction): a Personal Access Token from the CJ Developer Portal, plus your publisher ID (CID).
- impact.com: an Account SID and Auth Token from Settings, Technical, API Access.
- Awin: an OAuth2 API token from the Awin API credentials page, plus your publisher ID.
- Rakuten Advertising: a client ID and client secret for the Events API from the developer console.
Enter them in ChaffChing under Settings, Networks. Credentials are stored in your Keychain and only ever sent to that network's API.
No cha-ching sound or notifications
- Check that notifications are allowed for ChaffChing in System Settings (macOS) or Settings (iOS).
- Make sure a Focus mode is not silencing the app.
- In ChaffChing's Settings, confirm "Play cha-ching sound" is on and a sound is selected.
- New sales are only announced once; quiet periods usually mean no new tracked sales, not a broken app.
Mac and iPhone show different numbers
- Both devices must be signed into the same Apple ID with iCloud Drive enabled.
- Sync can take a minute after new sales arrive; opening the app foreground-refreshes it.
- Check Settings, iCloud Sync inside ChaffChing for the last synced time.
Restore a Pro purchase
Open ChaffChing Settings, choose the plan section, and use Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID that bought the subscription. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your device Settings under Apple ID, Subscriptions.
Numbers differ from my network dashboard
ChaffChing shows what each network's API reports, and networks revise or reverse commissions over time. Some networks also limit how far back the API can look. For invoicing or taxes, always use the network's official reports.
